Vitālijs Meļņičenko (born 11 November 1987 in Riga) is a Latvian footballer, who currently plays for Soproni Liga club Szolnoki MÁV FC in Hungary.[1]

Club Career

As a youth player Meļņičenko played for Riga Football School (RFS), making his first professional appearance in 2005 for Olimps/RFS.[2] In 2006 he joined FK Eirobaltija, but in 2007 he returned to higher level football, joining FK Rīga. He couldn't prove himself there and was signed by Skonto Riga in 2008.[3] He made 2 appearances for the club, being loaned to Olimps/RFS in 2008 and SK Blāzma in 2009.[4] While playing for Olimps/RFS, Meļņičenko managed to score a goal against FK Vindava and all in all played 7 games. He played 10 matches for SK Blāzma. In 2010 he was given on loan to Olimps/RFS. He played 3 matches and left for SK Blāzma once again in 2010. He played 14 matches for the club and at the start of 2011 left Latvian Higher League, going on trial with Zalaegerszegi TE.[5] He didn't stay in Zalaegerszeg[6], but signed a contract with another Soproni Liga club Szolnoki MÁV FC.[7]

International Career

Meļņičenko hasn't been capped for Latvia so far.
